Open Water Swims
Dynamo Multisport conducts monthly open water swims in the summer. We ask that all participants be members of either Dynamo Multisport or Dynamo Masters and be able to swim 1500m straight. This is NOT a venue for beginners who cannot swim a mile without stopping. It is strongly encouraged to pay $3-5 to Maria Thrash for each swim. Maria and her family supervise these swims and incur gas costs to run their water vehicles during the workouts.
Directions to Dynamo Multisport Open Water Swims at Lake Pavilion in Chestatee
- Go north to GA 400 – past the North Georgia Premium Outlet and Home Depot.
- Continue on GA 400 north toward Dahlonega to GA 136 – check millage at highway GA 136.
- Go 1 mile past Hwy. 136 on GA 400 and look for “Chestatee” sign on right (Night Fire Drive) and turn between the two large stone columns with Chestatee on front
- Go to second stop sign (0.4miles) turn left on to DOGWOOD WAY
- Follow Dogwood Way past the Chestatee golf course Club House to the 2nd stop sign (1.3 miles). Continue on and look for the tennis courts on left. Turn left just pass the tennis courts on to Waterfront Park Lane.
- Go to bottom of hill (100 yards) turn left into the Pavillion parking lot.
- Park in any open space. The group will gather underneath the pavilion prior to the swim. Arrive EARLY!
