  • Begin the Begin

As we start the 2010 tri season here in North America, I can’t help but go to my favorite R.E.M. song from one of my all-time fav albums to kick off our first NewsLink of the new year.  As is with all things new, the sentiment is “It’s time”…time to begin again, time to get back into shape, time to hit a new level of fitness and most importantly, time (as always) to have more fun.  And it’s time to get on to the latest news…

Power Clinic & Team Dinner This Thursday, January 21 – 6:30 PM

We will be having a Power Clinic (training/racing with a cycling power meter) on 1/21 hosted by our friends up at All3Sports.com.  This is free for all DMSers.  If you are interested in training/racing with power, this will provide you a great starting point to make some decisions on buy/hold.  For coached athletes, this will also be an opportunity to learn more aboutthe options available through our Saris/CycleOps sponsorship.  As part of the sponsorship all coached athletes will receive a huge discount off MSRP fulfilled through A3S.com.  This is a unique sponsorship of which we’re very proud.

All3Sports.com: 8601 Dunwoody Place, Suite 450, Atlanta, GA 30350 in the Northridge Business Park (THIS IS A BIG OFFICE PARK – TURN INTO THE PART ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE GAS STATION AND WE’RE AROUND THE BACK OF THE 400 BUILDING)

    2010 Tentative Team Races

As we begin to sign-up for team races this season, we would like to designate specific races as “Team Races” where we try to get as many of the DynaMafia at the event.  The selection of races is based on several criteria, including proximity to Atlanta, support of the GREEN’s partners (A3S, 11Global, To Remember) and popularity among team athletes.  We understand that race schedules can be very individual and hope that these races fall under the “80/20″ rule for applicability to all of our athletes.  Below is an initial list of Team Races for 2010.
    February
    2/27 – Charles Harris 10k: Tucker, GA
    March
    3/21 – ING Half/Full Marathon: Atlanta, GA
    April
4/24 – John Tanner Sprint Tri: Carrollton, GA
May There are several races in May that are early season ‘A’ races for many of our athletes and we will have split teams.  The 11Global race is a priority for race or volunteer support.
    5/9 – Rev3 Oly & Half Tri: Knoxville, TN
    5/16 - Florida 70.3: Orlando, FL
5/22 – Eleven Reynolds Plantation Oly: Reynolds Plantation, GA   This event is held by Dynamo’s own Ryan Landy.  We want to support Ryan through participation of any kind – racing (individual OR relays) or volunteering.

    June

6/12 – West Point Lake Triathlon: LaGrange, GA
    July
7/11 – Chattanooga Waterfront Tri: Chattanooga, TN
    August
    September
    9/18 – Tri2Remember Sprint: Gainesville, GA
    9/26 – Augusta 70.3: Augusta, GA

Dynamo’s Ryan Landy to Hold Olympic Distance Race in Georgia

Our own Ryan Landy and his 11global triathlon series – Eleven – will be holding an Olympic-distance race at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation on May 22nd followed by a kids aquathlon on May 23.  This will be the inaugural race for the Eleven franchise both here in Georgia AND the United States.  As a team, we want to support Ryan and Eleven in any way possible, be it through competing (individually or on relays) or volunteering.  We want to have as many of the GREEN down at the Ritz that day, so please mark your calendars for this particular event.  It’s time to rally around one of our own in this important event.  A discount coupon will be distributed next month when registration opens. For more information on the event, please visit Eleven’s race site HERE.

    Thanks to our Partners

As always, we want to thank our partners for supporting the GREEN!  All3Sports.com, GU, CycleOps, 11Global
